Allyson Felix
Allyson Michel Felix was born 18 November 1985, in Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father was an ordained minister in the Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix's talent for athletics was apparent from the time she was enrolled at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within a short time after her first attempt, Felix placed 2nd in the 200-meter race in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix was signed to a professional career with Adidas in 2003. She then enrolled at University of Southern California to learn about elementary education. Felix received her first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece. Felix ran 200 meters in 22.18s, setting a new junior world record. In 2005, the Helsinki World Championships saw her becoming the youngest female to take home the 200 meters race. In 2007, she won this title and beat her Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix consistently placed within the top third in each of her events in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
