Allyson Felix
Allyson Michelle Felix was born Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Paul Felix, her father was an ordained minister at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet elementary school. Felix showed a flair for sports early, and discovered her ability to sprint while she was at the Los Angeles Baptist High School. A mere 10 weeks after the initial attempt she made the sport, she finished second in 200m at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003, Felix was a senior in high school having signed a professional contract with the company that makes sports Adidas before enrolling at the University of Southern California where she studied elementary education. The first Olympic medal came during the 2004 Summer Olympics, at Athens Greece. Felix set a world junior record for sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 seconds. In the 2005 Helsinki World Championships, Felix became the world's youngest champion in the distance of 200 meters. She won the title in 2007. defended the title in front of her Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix was consistently in the top 3 across her diverse competitions in the Olympics held at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
